Miriam Cruz is a merengue icon, known for her powerful voice and commanding stage presence. Her career began as the lead vocalist of the legendary merengue group Las Chicas del Can, where she quickly established herself as a force to be reckoned with. Throughout the 80s and early 90s, Cruz and Las Chicas del Can dominated the Latin music scene, releasing hit after hit and garnering legions of fans across the world.
Cruz's solo career began in 1993 with the release of her debut album, Nueva Vida. The album was an instant success, propelled by hit singles like "Tómalo Tú" and "La Loba." Her follow-up album, Punto y Aparte, was released in 2001 and featured collaborations with top Latin music producers like Sergio George. In 2006, Cruz released her third album, Aquí Estoy, which included collaborations with top Dominican musicians like Johnny Ventura and Sergio Vargas. United Palace is pleased to welcome Miriam Cruz back to the stage for the second time.
